Configuring Auto Provisioning in FortiVoice Enterprise

Auto provisioning makes it easy for you to connect a phone to your FortiVoice unit. This resume guides you through the process of ensuring each FortiFone you connect to your network properly configures.

Auto provision is only available for supported FortiFones.

Creating a Spreadsheet

Before we begin, open your preferred spreadsheet software and create a new spreadsheet. Include all of the new extensions with the correct MAC addresses of each phone, as shown in the image to the right.

Your CSV file must have a headline containing the column names User ID, Extension, Display Name, Phone Type, Mac Address, and Phone Profile.

Auto Provisioning Internal Extensions

Open the FortiVoice web UI and perform the following steps

  1. Go to Extension > Extensions > IP Extensions.
  2. Select Import.
  3. Select Choose File and select the previously created CSV file.
  4. Select OK.
  5. Go to Phone System > Advanced Settings > Auto Provisioning.
  6. Select Enabled and configure the server settings for phone configuration.
  7. Connect the phones to the network and turn them on. The FortiVoice unit will discover phones with factory default settings. After auto provisioning, reboot the phones and register with the FortiVoice unit.

Make a test phone call to verify the extension was provisioned successfully.
