Removing the Device from the Rack

Ensure that a clean, flat surface is available where the device can be placed after removing the device from the rack.

To avoid personal injury or damage to the unit, it is strongly recommended that two or more people remove the unit from the rack.
  1. Remove all the cables from the from the back of the device.
  2. Remove any screws or loosen any thumbscrews securing the device to the rack.
  3. For devices installed with sliding rails:
    1. Pull the device out of the rack until the rails lock in their fully extended position.
    2. Pull up on the front release latches on each rail and slowly slide the device forward.
    3. Lift the device completely out of the rack.
  4. For devices installed with static rails:
    1. Pull the device out of the rack as far as possible.
    2. Push down on the release latches on each side of the device.
    3. Lift the device completely out of the rack.
